Schönburn 2026

Schönburn takes place at Böllerbauer, a farm in Haag, Lower Austria, about 90 minutes from Vienna by train. The Austrian burner community organises this every year, and the pre-event culture is part of the event itself: people are encouraged to join online channels and attend meetups in Vienna before arriving, so the community is already forming well before the gates open.

On site, the camps build their own spaces and run whatever they committed to offering: workshops, performances, art installations, food and drink to gift. Nothing is sold. The event runs on the 10 Principles of Burning Man plus an 11th principle on consent. Everyone is a volunteer. Shared transport from Vienna is usually organised for people coming by train.

It is a smaller, more local burn than The Borderland or Kiez Burn, with a strong Viennese community feel.
