Romania's regional Burn, a small community gathering that describes itself less as a festival and more as a village people build from scratch together. Shared meals, fire, music, and whatever the people attending decide to make happen.

About

The experience at RoBurn is created by whoever in the community decided to bring something: a sound system, a gifting bar, food, shade, a workshop. No money changes hands on site, there are no paid performers, and no sponsors. Everyone from the organisers to the DJs is a volunteer. The event takes place at Ștefănel Village in Dolj County, southern Romania, in an open valley with hills and trees around. The weather in late July can go either way: blazing sun, thunderstorms, mud. From what the people running it describe, all of that just becomes part of the story. The community has been running since 2019 and the social atmosphere is small enough that you meet everyone. People cook together, build structures together, sit around fires together. By the end of the week the line between strangers and friends is basically gone. It is a young burn by regional standards, still finding its size and shape, which gives it a raw and scrappy energy that the bigger, more established burns sometimes lose.
