    About

Ecstatic Dance Festival Cyprus is a six-day international conscious dance gathering held on the island of Cyprus, near Paphos at Val’s Place, where people from around the world come together to move, connect and celebrate life through free-form ecstatic dance, live music and workshops.

It was first created in 2017 and has grown into a recurring community festival focused on bringing together diverse cultures, backgrounds and creative expressions in one shared space of movement and presence. The atmosphere is intentionally sober and inclusive, with no alcohol or drugs, and a strong emphasis on safety, respect and freedom of expression through the body.

Across the six days, participants experience daily ecstatic dance sessions with international DJs and live musicians, along with workshops in movement, meditation, embodiment and community practices. The programming is designed to support both deep personal exploration and collective experience, often described as a journey into connection, emotion and self-expression.

The setting itself is a key part of the experience, with the festival taking place in a nature-surrounded venue overlooking the sea, where people camp on site and live together as a temporary community. Food is offered in a simple, nourishing way, often inspired by local and natural ingredients, and the environment is designed to feel like a shared village rather than a traditional festival site.

Ecstatic Dance Festival Cyprus is known for its strong international character, drawing participants, facilitators and performers from many countries, and creating a “dancing tribe” atmosphere where strangers often leave feeling like a connected community by the end of the week.
